To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the establishment of Jamestown, the 1st permanent english settlement in “The New World,” the History Channel wanted to create an online exhibit where educators and students could learn the often misunderstood true story of this historic colony and archeological treasure.
By developing an interactive timeline from the early 1600 to the present, and delivering creative content like original illustration, scholarly interviews and a meticulously curated collection of relevant information, visitors were welcomed into a rich internet application awarded with a 2007 Webby ”Official Honoree” selection in the Cultural Institutions category.
